*This photo is a representation of the cake and is not necessarily what the cake will look like. This is a rather interesting story. I went to the specialty shop Over the Top Cakes in St. Albert with a Carcassonne meeple in hand so I could ask them to make a cake in the shape of a meeple. She looked at it standing there on the counter and shook her head. There was no way she could make it to stand up like that.
So, I pushed over and I said, “No problem; it’s a farmer*.” 😉 – John Engel
The cake valued at $175 has been generously donated to GameAlot by Mission: Fun & Games.
* Carcassonne is a tile-placement game in which the players draw and place a tile with a piece of southern French landscape on it. After playing a tile, a player can then decide to place one of his meeples on one of the areas on it: on the city as a knight, on the road as a robber, on a cloister as a monk, or laying on its side on the grass as a farmer.

The splash of salt spray across your forearm as you unfurl the spinnaker, the groan of the mast as it catches the wind, the thrill as you round the buoy and cut across the waves. Do you have what it takes to be a famous racing skipper?
Famous Flagships
Famous Flagships is a fun, fast-playing yacht racing game the captures the excitement of historic yachting regattas like the America’s Cup. The game pits a challenger and defender against each other amidst shifting winds and ever-changing fortunes. Both yachts fill their sails, displacing wind to either side and gaining speed as they steer the course. The result is a tight, tactical card game, with victory going to the first yacht to reach 50 knots.
P.S. As a reminder, there will be a whiteboard on which we will write down the winners’ names, so check it often! Our volunteers may not know who you are so as to hunt you down right away!
